Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser. Your images are read from your device, processed in memory and saved straight back to it. They are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone.
Why are images saved as WebP?
Websites use WebP because its files are smaller than JPG or PNG, so pages load faster. When you save an image from a browser you often get the WebP version, which not every app can open.
Can I keep transparency?
Choose PNG instead of JPG. PNG keeps transparent areas; JPG can’t store transparency, so they’re filled with white.
Does it work with animated WebP?
Only the first frame is converted, because JPG and PNG files hold a single still image.
Can I process many images at once?
Yes. Add as many images as you like, up to 50 MB each and 500 MB in total. Each one gets its own result and download link, and “Download all” saves them together as a ZIP file.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. Because all the work happens on your own device, there are no servers to pay for.
