Free QR code generator
Make a QR code for a website, WiFi network, contact card, email, phone number, text message or plain text. Pick colours, add a logo and download a PNG or SVG. The codes are static, so they never expire and don’t send scans through a tracking link, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
Made in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.
Enter a website address to see your QR code.
How to make a QR code
- 1Choose what the code should do: open a website, join WiFi, save a contact and so on.
- 2Fill in the details. The preview updates as you type.
- 3Adjust colours, size, margin and error correction, and add a logo if you like.
- 4Download the code as PNG or SVG, or copy it, and test it with your phone.

Static QR codes, with no strings attached
Never expires
Your content is stored in the code itself. There’s no redirect link in between, so no one can switch it off, count your scans or ask you to pay later.
Nothing leaves your browser
The code is drawn by JavaScript on your device. Links, WiFi passwords and contact details are never uploaded, and there’s no tracking.
No sign-up
No account, email address, watermark or scan limit. Download as many codes as you like and use them commercially.
Many “free” QR code generators create dynamic codes that send every scan through their own short link. If the service closes, changes its terms or starts charging, those printed codes stop working. The codes made here point straight at your content, so they keep working without this site or any other server.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static QR codes: what you type is stored in the code itself, so it works for as long as the printed or saved image exists. Many “free” generators make dynamic codes that point to their own redirect link, which can stop working, show ads or ask you to pay later. These codes don’t depend on any server, including this one.
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. The code is generated by JavaScript in your browser. Your links, passwords and contact details are never uploaded, logged or stored, and there’s no tracking. You can check by opening your browser’s network tab while you type.
What can a QR code contain?
This generator makes codes that open a website, join a WiFi network, save a contact card (vCard), start an email, call a phone number or start a text message, or that just show some text. Phone cameras on iOS and Android recognise all of these formats.
How do I make sure the code scans?
Keep dark modules on a light background with strong contrast, leave the quiet zone (the plain border) at 4 modules if you can, and print the code at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide, larger if people scan from further away. The generator blocks inverted and low-contrast colours. Always test the final print with a couple of phones.
What does error correction do?
It adds redundant data so a code still scans when part of it is dirty, damaged or covered. Low recovers about 7%, Medium 15%, Quartile 25% and High 30%. Higher levels make the code denser, so use Medium for most things and High for a logo or codes that may get scuffed.
Can I put my logo in the middle?
Yes. Add a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG image and it’s placed in the centre. Error correction is set to High, which lets a scanner rebuild up to 30% of the code, and the logo area is capped at a fifth of the code’s width so there’s plenty of margin. The logo is drawn in your browser and never uploaded.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
SVG is a vector image, so it stays sharp at any size and is best for print and design tools. PNG works everywhere, including documents and social media. Choose 1024 or 2048 pixels for print. You can also copy the PNG straight to the clipboard in browsers that support it.
Is it really free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, watermark, scan limit or paid plan. The codes are yours to use commercially, and because the work happens on your own device there are no servers to pay for.
